In the last post you would have not have any idea on how big and crazy the shawl really is. I took some pictures of the finished object even though that day was horrible. Now the shawl is on its way to my lovely mum who I am pretty sure will wear it everyday of winter!

Askews me but brioche or not to brioche ?

After the words of Westknits, brioche is the stitch of 2015 ! I actually  believe that it is definitely the stitch of not only this year but also the ones to come. It has so many possibilities in terms of colour play and texture that you can not be put off by it but only be attracted to it! ok, to be fair it looks scary and like many new things it takes a bit of practice to get the hang to it :)

Penguono by Westknits

Another great design by Monsieur West! The knitting of penguono is an adventure. you follow a well put together instruction and you create something truly unique. The colour play  is endless. You can make a mysterious penguono with some grey and black, a crazy bright one or a earthy one …. endless colour combinations that can suite any soul.

If you have to chose between being mortal or goddess, what would you chose?

I am not sure…. I think I would chose mortal,  just so I live the day like my last one …It is so easy to say but so hard to do…and what about you?

Countess Ablaze new collection, The Odyssey Trail, the colours are, as usual, outstanding. When I saw “but are you mortal or goddess” in DK, my little crush on pink was singing to my ears buy my please buy me!  I know that the yarns from this collection will never be repeated. So I had to buy it, right?  so I did :) and I had a perfect pattern on my queue on Ravelry. It was made for the yarn or the yarn for it. The perfect relationship.

Community and interaction

I love blogging without expectation and I will share only passion. The other important part of blogging to me is the great feeling of snuggling into a mini space, a virtual one, where I am happy and free. I love taking pictures so dressing my pictures with words is just the cheery on the top of a gluten free cake :). So when I came across  the  love your blog challenge created by A playful day, I thought that it was a great idea therefore I decided to join the thread of love

When maman knits

When my mum came to visit, we had some great knitting time together. My mum is an amazing and fast knitter. she loves perfection and I have to say that my threshold for perfection is not as high as hers. When she stayed with us, she knitted 2.5 shawls (one pebble beach shawl from curious handmade,  barndom from westknits, started rock island from Jared Flood) and a mini parachutey for my son! Here is her knitting adventure in pictures!

Republic of Wool + Curious Handmade = Grasshopper

A beautiful Grasshopper in fingering weight from Republic of wool, beautiful greens, beautiful texture and a delight to knit with. Another pebble beach shawl knitted, using another hand dyed yarn, this shawl has to be added to my collection of hand dyed pebble. I am traveling around the world  through the making of the pebble shawl following a hand dyed trail. I went to the UK with the phoenix pebble made of Countess Ablaze goodness, I went to Australia with sweet pebble made of Skeinyarn and now I went to the USA with Republic of Wool and all this travel was through seeing and knitting the colours of a thread of yarn. I guess that was a cheap way of travelling :)

The story of a little giveaway

I organised a mini giveaway at the end of February and I was meant to tell everyone who was the lucky winner on the 6th of March, so 8 days later I am finally writing the mini story of the little giveaway. Askews me, do you like Brioche?

Brioche, dear brioche if Stephen West did not whispered your name through his creation I would have never meet you. I would have lived a life without knowing how you play with the colours, how clever and warm you are. So thanks Westknits.

Brioche knitting is different than normal knitting, the big differences are that you knit twice the same row and that you do a lot of yarn overs. It took me a bit of practice and false  starts before I felt comfortable with brioche. The truth is that when you start understanding the technique, it gets very addictive because it is an amazing way to play with colours or showing off your favourite yarn !

Purlbee + Elfin hats = 100% cuteness

The Purl bee by Purl Soho is like a magic space and beautiful piece of creativity inspiring on the internet, I wish I were in NY just so I can visit the shop in flesh. When they realeased the free pattern elfin hat pattern, I knew that it will be on my double pointed ninja needle very quickly, which it did !
